2014 UCAS New International Students Opening Ceremony Held

The Opening Ceremony and Orientation for entering 2014 UCAS international students was held at the Zhongguancun campus on the afternoon of September 10. Prof. Wu Yueliang, member of CAS, Vice President of UCAS and Prof. Li Shaohua, Director of the Wuhan Botanical Garden of CAS, and Mr. Qin Jingan, Deputy of the Entry and Exit Office of the Haidian district, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. HU Zhengyi.

In Prof. Wu's welcome remarks he said that he expected the students to remain curious, persistent and compatible. He hoped that the international graduate students will learn much while studying at UCAS.

An international student representative, a representative of supervisors, a representative of Chinese language instructors and the faculty of the International College, the Sino-Danish College and the International Student Affairs Office also spoke at the ceremony.

There are a total of 346 entering international students from 49 countries, including Denmark, Germany, England, Norway, Kenya and Pakistan enrolled at UCAS this year.
