On January 2, "New Year's Opera Class" was held in Yanqi Lake Campus of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, (UCAS). The activity was held by the Chinese opera club of UCAS, which aimed at spreading the national essence and welcoming the New Year, more than 40 master and doctoral students enrolled in this activity.
Students enjoyed the performance of Peking Opera and Kunqu, learned the basic knowledge of opera, visited the process of makeup, hair combing and dressing, tried on colorful Peking Opera costumes, and learned the basic skills of Peking Opera performance.
Through this activity, many students who had never been exposed to opera before became interested in opera and enjoyed the New Year time with traditional Chinese cultural atmosphere.
