Australian National University Delegation Visits UCAS Yanqihu Campus

A delegation led by Professor Ian Young AO, Vice-Chancellor of the Australian National University (ANU), visited UCAS on April 13, 2015. UCAS Vice President Professor Su Gang met with them.

Prof. Su welcomed the visit of Prof. Young. He gave a brief introduction of the construction progress at the Yanqihu Campus and reviewed the collaboration between UCAS and ANU describing the enrollment of undergraduate students at UCAS in 2014. Prof. Young praised the hospitality of UCAS and expressed expectation for productive collaboration in the Joint Doctoral Program.
After the meeting, the ANU guests enjoyed a wonderful bird's eye view by climbing up to the Observation deck of the Yanqihu Campus.
 
In 2009, UCAS and ANU signed a memorandum of understanding for future collaboration regarding a Joint Doctoral Program. In 2014, A delegation led by Prof. Erik Lithander, Pro Vice-Chancellor of ANU, visited the UCAS Yuquanlu Campus. Vice President Prof. Wu Yueliang and Prof. Young signed a Dual-Award PhD Degree Program Agreement between the two universities. The agreement states that the two sides will develop joint doctoral education, supervision and research as well as encourage mobility of faculty and students. The cooperation will initially focus on the prominent academic areas of the two universities.

ANU is consistently ranked among the world's top universities. ANU is ranked equal 25th in the world (first in Australia) by the 2014/15 QS World University Rankings, and 45th in the world (second in Australia) by the 2014/15 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. ANU enrolls 10,052 undergraduate and 10,840 graduate students, employing 3,753 staff.
