UCAS President Ding Zhongli Visits Hong Kong

Prof. Ding Zhongli, Vice-President of CAS and President of UCAS, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the University of Hong Kong from April 8 to April.11.

Prof. Ding was warmly welcomed by the three universities. He briefed them on CAS, the current situation of UCAS and the enrollment of the first group of UCAS undergraduates. He discussed with related leaders of the three universities about how to carry out the joint training programs of graduates and undergraduates and reached an initial consensus on the concrete steps to promote mutual exchanges and cooperation. In addition, Prof. Ding visited several laboratories and research facilities in each of the three universities.

Prof. Ding visited Mrs. Chu Yuet Wah, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Kingston Financial Group. Mrs. Chu made substantial donations to CAS. The CAS-Chu Yuet Wah Scholarship is the largest scholarship in CAS. Prof. Ding praised Mrs Chu for her support of CAS, UCAS and Chinese education. Mrs. Chu expressed her gratitude for Prof. Ding’s visit and hoped that she might someday visit UCAS again.
