Eight UCAS Doctoral Supervisors Elected as Members of TWAS

Eight UCAS doctoral supervisors were elected as members of The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries (TWAS) during the 26th TWAS General Meeting in Vienna, Austria on 18 November. There were 44 researchers elected as members of TWAS this year, among which twelve were from China.

The eight UCAS doctoral supervisors are Prof. Gui Jianfang, the Institute of Hydrobiology of CAS, Prof. Ding Jian, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of CAS, Prof. Zhang Hongjie, the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of CAS, Prof. Zhou Zhonghe, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of CAS, Prof. Yuan Yaxiang, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of CAS, Prof. Li Shushen, the Institute of Semiconductors of CAS, Prof. Xiang Tao, the Institute of Physics of CAS and Prof. Shi Yong, UCAS.

TWAS is a global science academy based in Trieste, Italy, working to advance science and engineering for sustainable prosperity in the developing world. There are more than 1000 researchers from 95 countries and regions elected as members of TWAS, among which are 205 Chinese.
