The Universiti Malaysia Sarawak Delegation Visits UCAS

The Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) delegation, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, visited UCAS on 14 December. Prof. Su Gang, UCAS Vice-President, met with Prof. Suaidi at the Yuquanlu campus.

Prof. Su welcomed the guests, explaining the advantages of being supported by CAS, the unique UCAS student education mode, and describing the many forms of international exchange and cooperation. He said Malaysia is China’s long-time friend and neighbor. UCAS would like to cooperate with UNIMAS in education and scientific research in order to advance science and education exchanges between the two nations.

Prof. Suaidi expressed his gratitude for the warm UCAS reception. He introduced the location and current situation of UNIMAS education as well as its instructional advantages. He said China and Malaysia have a long history of exchanges adding that Chinese culture has a great influence throughout Malaysia. He noted that the favorable cultural atmosphere of UNIMAS and Malaysia’s abundant natural resources facilitate complementary cooperation between the two universities. Both parties had a discussion on feasible cooperation in renewable energy, life sciences and tropical disease control.

Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Malaysia's eighth university is the largest one and ranking 1st in eastern Malaysia. It has 30 colleges and schools. UNIMAS is strong in social sciences, resource science and technology. It has more than 17,000 students and more than 2000 faculty and staff members.
