The 1st Organic Optoelectronics Conference in Beijing was held at UCAS Yanqihu campus on May 18-19. The conference was co-organized by UCAS College of Materials Science and Opto-electronic Engineering along with Key Laboratory of Vacuum Physics at CAS.

Prof. Gao Suixiang, Vice-President of UCAS, spoke at the opening ceremony. He welcomed all the scholars present and conferred the Certificate of “CAS International Distinguished Scholars” to Professor Tobin J. Marks from Northwestern University, USA.

The conference had four plenary lectures and 18 invited lectures. Twenty six scholars from US, Korea, India and China held vigorous discussions on organic optoelectronics. More than 60 students and faculty members from UCAS College of Materials Science and Opto-electronic Engineering attended the lectures. The conference aimed to establish a platform for researchers to exchange ideas and initiate future collaborations, debate current scientific progress and get to the bottom of cutting-edge research.

Prof. Tobin J. Mark was invited to give a lecture titled “Materials Strategies for Printed Flexible Hybrid Electronic Circuitry”.  Prof. Liu Yunqi, academician of CAS gave a lecture titled “Design and Synthesis of Semiconducting Copolymers with Donor-Acceptor Structure and Studies on Their Field-Effect Properties”.  And Prof. Cao Yong, academician of CAS presented “Efforts towards all-printable polymer optoelectronic devices at SCUT Group: electroluminescent displays and polymer BHJ solar cells”. Prof. Li Yongfang, academician of CAS also devlivered a speech titled “Two-Dimension-Conjugated Polymer Donor Materials for Non-Fullerene Polymer Solar Cells”.
