Delegation of University of Nebraska Omaha Visits UCAS

A delegation led by Prof. Scott Synder, Associate Vice Chancellor of the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), visited UCAS on Sept. 20. Prof. Wu Yueliang, vice-president of UCAS, met with the guests.

Wu welcomed the American visitors. He briefed them on UCAS’s unique two-phase mode of cultivation, education of UCAS International students and innovative measures based on the scientific strengths of CAS. He reviewed the more-than-10-year history of UCAS and UNO and expressed his hope for the continued spirit of cooperation between the two in the future.

Prof. Zhao Hong, Vice-Director of the UCAS School of Economics and Management, and Mr. Wu Liangqi, Assistant President of UCAS Savaid Medical School, introduced the guests to the basic features of each discipline and the construction of their schools. 

Prof. Scott Synder gave a brief introduction to UNO. Representatives from University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) expressed their hope to carry out academic exchanges with UCAS Savaid Medical School. In addition, UNO and UCAS agreed to cooperate in an undergraduate exchange program, joint graduate training program, and faculty exchange program.

UNO, founded in 1908, is a public university in the United States. UNO's School of Public Administration is a national leader in public service education, with five of its programs ranked in the nation’s top 25 by U.S. News & World Report. UNO is also strong in business administration and information science. 

UNMC is a public center of health sciences research, patient care, and education located inOmaha, Nebraska. In 2016, UNMC was ranked 5th in the United States by U.S. News & World Report in the "Best Medical Schools: Primary Care" category.
