A delegation led by Prof. Steve Chapman, Vice-Chancellor of Edith Cowan University (ECU), visited UCAS on October 26, 2016. Prof. Su Gang, Vice-President of UCAS met with them which were also attended by Prof. Li Zengxi, Deputy Dean of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, UCAS and Prof. Hu Baoyang, Deputy Dean of Savaid Medical School, UCAS.
Su welcomed the visit of Prof. Steve Chapman. He gave a brief introduction of the latest development of higher education of UCAS and the recent achievement of Combination of education and research at UCAS.
Prof. Steve Chapman praised the hospitality by UCAS and expressed expectation for the deep collaboration on joint education cooperation especially on Chemistry and medical science, English course teaching and joint PhD degree program. Later a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Cooperation between UCAS and ECU was signed. According to the MOU, both parties will enhance relations by developing academic and cultural interchange through a joint PhD program, student and faculty exchanges and short-term visit programs.
Edith Cowan University (ECU) is situated in Western Australia, with more than 27,000 students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, approximately 4,300 of whom are international students originating from over 100 countries outside Australia. Its divisions of note include the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), recognized as one of Australia's prestigious performing arts training academies; the School of Nursing and Midwifery, which offers the largest undergraduate nursing program in WA and the School of Education which offers the widest range of secondary teaching specializations within WA. The university is the largest provider of Psychology and Community Studies courses in Western Australia. ECU is also home to the WA Screen Academy.
