On the morning of September 28, the Cooperation Framework Agreement between University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and University of Orléans was signed at the Yuquanlu Campus of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). Professor Su Gang, vice president of UCAS and Professor Ary BRUAN, president ofUniversity of Orléans, signed the agreement on behalf of the two universities. The initial term of validity of five yearswas favored by both sides. According to the agreement, the two schools will cooperate in various aspects such as scientific research, teacher and student exchangesas well as publication of scientific research results.
Before the signing of the agreement, the representatives of the two schools also held brief talks. Vice President Su Gang expressed his warm welcome to President Ary BRUAN and his parties.In addition, he briefed the French guests on the development of UCAS, its unique mode of integrating science with education and its competitive edges due to the powerful platform provided by Chinese Academy of Sciences. The international cooperation of UCAS was mentioned as well. Then they turned their focus to Huairou Science City project, which was of great interest to French guests. President Su, therefore,introduced the planning of Huairou Science City and explained the significant responsibilities of UCAS in propelling the development of Huairou Science City.Professor Luigi A.AGROFOGLIO, vice president of University of Orléans, introduced its long history, outstanding alumni and development status. Professor AGROFOGLIO also referred to several students fromUCAS received by University of Orléans through this year's summer exchange program. He said that more students of UCAS would be welcomed to exchange and study at University of Orléans.
