MA Wei, researcher of Northwest Institute of Ecological Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected to be a foreign academician of Russian Academy of Engineering, which is considered to be an event helping to promote the cooperation in frozen soil research between China and Russia, and playing a key role in infrastructure construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, Beijing-Moscow High Speed Rail, and other major construction projects.
