Vice-Chancellor of University of Bristol Visits UCAS

The delegation from University of Bristol, led by Prof. Hugh Brady, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bristol, visited UCAS on the afternoon of April 6. Wu Yueliang, Vice-President of UCAS, met with the delegation at the Yuquanlu campus.

Wu welcomed the guests. As UCAS has signed an agreement with the University of Bristol related to the UCAS Undergraduate Study Abroad Program, Wu expressed his hope that both UCAS and the University of Bristol can use the program as an opportunity to deepen the mutual cooperation between the two institutes.

The latest UCAS English promotional video was played to show the unique educational methodology of the university, which features a fusion of scientific research and education based on CAS. The video also highlights the increasingly international focus of UCAS educational services.

Prof. Hugh Brady appreciated the reception he received at UCAS. He spoke on the advantages of the disciplines, teaching concepts and training modes at the University of Bristol. He expressed his wish that his university could broaden the cooperative areas and develop innovative cooperative modes with UCAS.

The two sides discussed the feasibility of dual-degree programs for undergraduate, master’s degrees as well as for PhD. candidates.

Prof. Zhong Liangwei introduced the UCAS Savaid Medical School and Ms. Gu Pan gave an overview of the current state of the UCAS Undergraduate Study Abroad Program related to the University of Bristol.

Bristol is one of the most popular and successful universities in the UK and was ranked within the top 50 universities in the world in the QS World University rankings 2016. Bristol is very strong in medicine, earth science and mathematics. Twelve Novel Laureates have been associated with Bristol. Bai Chunli, President of CAS and Honorary President of UCAS, was conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Bristol In 2015.
