A UCAS delegation, composed of 11 students from different institutes, attended the 10th International Student Research Forum (ISRF) sponsored by the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, Denmark from May 31 to June 5. Graduate students from Australia, China, Denmark, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States attended the forum.

During the forum, 49 students reported their research findings and shared their opinions concerning topics that covered various sub-areas of the life sciences and biomedical engineering. Due to the broad range and overall excellence of the research presentations, the forum provided a global view of the leading edge and latest techniques of the life sciences to the participating graduate students, thereby enhancing their creativity and facilitating the international collaboration between them.

The UCAS graduate student presentations made positive impressions on students from other universities. They developed friendships with other participants during the forum and exchanged gifts at the closing ceremony. They recognized that the well-organized forum not only provides a vision of future research but also enables graduate students to establish future collaborations and develop professional relationships with each other. Next year's 11th ISRF will be held in the United Kingdom.

It has been 9 years since the first International Student Research Forum was held by the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Tokyo in October, 2005. By showcasing world-class education and research, ISRF has become a respected forum which attracts the world brightest upcoming scientists, encouraging collaboration beyond disciplines and nationalities.
