A New Year’s Celebration called “Young Scientists on the Stage” for UCAS international students was held on December 31, 2014, at the Zhongguancun campus. It was co-sponsored by the International Affairs Office, the International College and the Sino-Danish College.
UCAS Vice-President Prof. Wu Yueliang gave the opening speech. International College students performed a Chinese drama, Indian traditional dances, and a Iranian dance. A Chinese student from the Sino-Danish College sang a Chinese song. North Korean students from the National Center of Nanoscience and Technology performed their folk songs and played the accordion. Chinese students from the Electronic, Electrical and Communication Engineering College performed a traditional lion dance. The celebration ended with a cat-walk fashon show by international students from various countries, dressed in traditional clothing.
This celebration enabled young UCAS international scientists from various nations to share their home cultures, reflecting the openness and inclusiveness of UCAS.
