The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) approved the Beijing International Center for Theoretical Physics on 15 October during a meeting in France.
ICTP-AP will be established at one campus of UCAS. Supported by the excellent scientific environment of CAS, ICTP-AP will provide Asian-Pacific scientists and global scientists opportunities to participate in basic scientific research, especially in cutting-edge theoretical physics and related interdisciplinary fields. ICTP-AP will offer graduate students and post-doctor fellows a variety of scientific training programs and scholarships, for developing a regional first-class scientific research center, a high-level international talented personnel training base and an open academic exchange center.
