2016 Sino-Japanese University Forum Held in Beijing

2016 Sino-Japanese University Forum was held at the Academic Hall of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing on May 6. Presidents of 12 prominent Chinese and Japanese universities, including UCAS, Tsinghua University, University of Sciences and Technology of China, Zhejiang University, University of Tokyo, Kyoto University and Waseda University, attended the forum.

The forum consisted of keynote speeches and seminars addressing the question of how to build a world-class university. More than 230 representatives from universities and organizations both in China and Japan took part in the forum.

Prof. Ding Zhongli, Vice-President of CAS and President of UCAS, Mr. Hamaguchi Michinar, President of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and officials from Chinese and Japanese governments were invited to deliver speeches in the forum.

The Sino-Japanese University Forum, held in turn in China and Japan, was sponsored by Mr. Kazuki Okimura, former President of the Japan Science and Technology Agency and 2015 winner of Chinese Government Friendship award. It is an important scientific and educational platform between Chinese and Japanese universities.
