On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of UCAS, the First International Cultural Festival of UCAS was hold on 14th, October. The theme of the festival is “ UCAS 40 years : Advancing with science & Progressing with openness”.
The cultural festival includes cultural exhibition and performance. The cultural exhibition was hold from the 9:00 to 16:00. In this section, the history, tourism, music, food, handcraft and custom of China and 23 participating countries were on display.
When enjoying the cultural festival, every visitor can get a “passport” and can get souvenirs by collecting stamps for the “passport”. Those who correctly answered questions about the festival also got some souvenirs.
The performance began at 13:30. Wu Yueliang, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and vice president of UCAS, delivered the opening speech. The performance includes traditional music and dances of 15 countries. Interesting games and lucky draws were designed so that the audience can enjoy the performance better.
At the end of the performance, many audience went up onto the platform and dance with music.
Both the performers and the audiences enjoyed the performance.
