Tunisian in UCAS International Cultural Festival

To celebrate UCASthe 40th anniversary, the first International Cultural Festival was held on October 14th.The cultural festival includes two parts: cultural exhibitions and cultural performances. Among them, the cultural exhibition mainly displays the history, special products and customs of the participating countries; the performances are mainly songs and dances, and interspersed with games and lottery.

At 9 o'clock on the morning of the 14th, visitors came to the square one after another. The lively atmosphere gradually climbed as the sun rose, and the happy laughter was as high as a wave. The students used posters, costumes, music, food, etc. to showcase the cultural characteristics of each country. Tunisian is one country participate in this international festival  culture of UCAS .

The culture of Tunisia is a product of more than three thousand years of history and an important multi-ethnic influx. Among these cultures were the Carthaginian - their native civilization, Roman, Vandal, Jewish, Christian, Arab, Islamic, Turkish and this unique mixture of cultures made Tunisia, with its strategic geographical location in the Mediterranean, the core of some great civilizations of Mare Nostrum. The history of Tunisia reveals this rich past where different successive Mediterranean cultures had a strong presence, El Jem is just one of seven world heritage sites found in Tunisia.

Food in Daily Life.Traditional Tunisian cuisine reflects local agriculture. It stresses wheat, in the form of bread or couscous, olives and olive oil, meat (above all, mutton), fruit, and vegetables. Couscous (semolina wheat prepared with a stew of meat and vegetables) is the national dish.
