Bangladeshi couple pursue advanced studies on biochemical engineering in China

Santosh Kumar Bose and Prianka Howlader are a couple from Bangladesh. They graduated with PhD degrees in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (institute: Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), China Academy of Sciences (CAS)) under the CAS-TWAS President's Fellowship Program.

They both earned bachelor's degrees in agriculture from Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Patuakhali, Bangladesh. Howlader continued her studies in horticulture at the university and Bose chose the same major at Bangladesh Agricultural University.

They have both published articles in renowned journals such as Food Chemistry, Carbohydrate Polymer, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, and Journal of Berry research. During their study, they attended the 2019 Winter and Spring School on Frontier and interdisciplinary Sciences for Oversea Students in Xiamen and Xi'an in China, respectively.

Bose won third prize in the "SHAANXI YANCHANG PETROLEUM (GROUP) Co. Ltd. Scholarship" in 2020. Prianka won third prize in the "Shimazdu Scholarship" in 2020.
