At the invitation of the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and of Universities Denmark, Prof. Deng Yong, Secretary General of CAS and Executive Vice President of GUCAS, visited Denmark from 8 to 9 August.
Prof. Deng met with Mr. Uffe Toudal Pedersen, Executive Vice Minister of the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Jens Oddershede, President of the University of Southern Denmark & Chairman of Universities Denmark, Dr. Ralf Hemmingsen, President of the University of Copenhagen, Dr. Lauritz Broder Holm-Nielsen, President of Aarhus University as well as Dr. Lars Pallesen, President of the Technical University of Denmark.
They exchanged views on such topics of mutual interest as the development of a masters program in the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC), the operation of the SDC building and scientific cooperation in SDC. Prof. Deng noted that SDC will greatly enhance the exchange, cooperation and innovation of science and technology between China and Denmark. The Danish hosts spoke highly of the contribution made by GUCAS and CAS. Both sides agreed to continue working out optimal arrangements for the smooth operation of the SDC.
