GUCAS and Springer Sign a Collaborative Agreement

On 23 November, 2011, GUCAS and Springer signed an agreement concerning PhD dissertation publication. The signing ceremony was held at the GUCAS Yuquanlu Campus.
 
GUCAS Vice-President Su Gang offered a welcome speech. He said that GUCAS was the largest graduate school in China with some 9000 supervisors and 5000 PHD students, and thereby a vast talent pool. He noted that Springer was one of the largest worldwide scientific publishers. He would like to introduce the best PhD dissertations to the world through Springerp's publications. The cooperation between GUCAS and Springer will surely be a win-win project, he commented.
 
Dr. Hubertus Riedesel, Executive Vice President of Springer Global Publishing said: He believe that we have published a unique thesis book series, and we seek to publish the best academic work of the world, including PhD theses from China. GUCAS is the right place. We will work together to disseminate the best of the best PhD theses worldwide.

Prof. Su and Dr. Riedesel signed the GUCAS-Springer Agreement on Co-publishing Excellent Doctorate Theses on behalf of each institution. According to the agreement, GUCAS will select and forward PhD dissertations to Springer for publication.
 
Springer-Verlag GmbH, headquartered in Germany, is one of the world's largest scientific publishers. Having published for around 170 years, Springer provides professional and efficient service to the global scientific community.
 
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Xiang Junhui, Deputy Director of Academic Degree Office of GUCAS, Mr. Ye Lu, Editorial Director of Springer Beijing Representative Office, and other Springer staff, as well as GUCAS faculty and students.
