On 5 January 2012, eight international GUCAS graduate students received excellent Student awards and received certificates from Professor Zhu Xiangbin, Assistant President of GUCAS. Professor Zhu congratulated the students, and highly praised all of the international students for their diligence in learning the Chinese language and Chinese history & culture. He wished the international students great success in their respective future careers.
34 international students from 17 countries received specialized Chinese training in the 2011 autumn semester. They each took three courses comprised of Basic Chinese, Spoken Chinese and China Introduction. In addition, they visited the Forbidden City, the Great Wall and other historic spots, and had a lecture on Chinese Calligraphy sponsored by the Educational Commission of Beijing. The experience of intensive Chinese learning at GUCAS enables international students to improve their basic language skills which are essential for the their life and research in China.
The 2011 autumn semester has concluded, such that the 34 international students will return to their institutes in various parts of China for further study and research.
A total of 149 international students from 44 countries are recently enrolled in GUCAS for graduate research and education.
