Nineteen International Students from Eleven Countries Learn Chinese at GUCAS

On 8 March, 2012, the opening ceremony of the 2012 Spring-semester Chinese Training Course was held at the Yuquan Campus of GUCAS. In this semester, 19 international students from 11 countries are receiving Chinese language training. At the ceremony, the international students were given a brief introduction to GUCAS history, its current situation and its vision for the future. In the afternoon, they visited the CAS Key Laboratory of Computational Geodynamics and the GUCAS history museum.

The 19 international students enrolled in the 2012 Spring-semester Chinese Language Training Course come from Germany, Denmark, Pakistan and eight other nations. After completing the Chinese language course, they will go to 14 separate CAS institutes, e.g. Beijing Institute of Genomics, Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter. Their majors include ecology, accelerator physics, management science and engineering and ten other fields.
