On 28 June 2012, six international students were awarded “Excellent Student” and received honor certificates from Mr. Xie Yong, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office. Mr. Xie firstly congratulated the awarded students, and also spoke highly of the other international students for their diligence in learning Chinese. He wished the international students would achieve a great success in their future research career.
It is reported that a total of 19 international students from 13 countries joined in the language training for the 2012 spring semester, which included such courses as “Basic Chinese”, “Spoken Chinese” and “China Introduction”. In addition, they visited the Forbidden City, Zhoukoudian Peking Man Museum and other historic spots.
The 19 international students will return to their institutes all over China for academic training and scientific research. Till now, there are a total of 161 international students from 46 countries studying at GUCAS and there will be over 200 international students this September.
