On the morning of 9 July, the 2012 GUCAS graduation ceremony was held at the Yuquanlu campus. There were 9258 students who received masters or doctoral degrees in 2012. About 700 student representatives attended the ceremonies, coming from the training units in Beijing, Shanghai, Lanzhou, Changchun and Qingdao.
The ceremony began with the playing of China's national anthem. Prof. Deng Yong, Secretary General of CAS and Vice President of GUCAS, announced the name list of 2012 GUCAS students to be awarded degrees.
Prof. Bai Chunli, President of CAS and GUCAS, congratulated the new graduates and encouraged them to work harder to address the challenge ahead and spare no efforts to contribute to the society after graduation.
Prof. Hong Youshi and Mr. Yue Hua respectively spoke on behalf of the faculty and the students. Prof. Wang Ying, Vice president of GUCAS, hosted the ceremony.
After the graduates received their degrees, President Bai and the faculty present joined them for a group photo.
