The first Sino-Danish College students and faculty attended the 2012-2013 Academic Year Opening Ceremony of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) at the Yuquanlu campus in Beijing on 6 Sept, 2012.

Christiana, a Sino-Danish College student from Denmark, addressed the opening ceremony on behalf of UCAS international students. She said she was very honored and excited to speak on the opening ceremony. She said the Sino-Danish College provided students a good opportunity to learn from various cultures and see things from different and new perspectives. She believed the time at UCAS would change their lives and shape their careers. Finally, she expressed her hopes that the knowledge they shared and the friendships they built across cultural and national boundaries, would also benefit their countries and strengthen the friendship between them.
