A welcome ceremony for 15 international students enrolled in 2012 was held at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST) on 14 November.

After Anil Kumar and Misbah Mirza gave welcome speeches on behalf of older international students, the Director of NCNST, Prof. Wang Chen, gave a one-hour lecture concerning NCNST history, the application of nanoscience and NCNST research achievements. Prof. Wang’s lecture encouraged the international students to devote themselves to nanoscience research.

Following Prof. Wang’s lecture, international students from Denmark, Finland, Pakistan, India and Cuba introduced themselves, expressing their interest in China and their commitment to doing nanoscience research.

During the break, international students chatted with each other while tasting a variety of Chinese snacks.

Indian graduate student Vikramjeet Singh performed a passionate Indian dance, bringing the welcome ceremony to a close.

There are a total of 26 international students studying in NCNST.
