A delegation from the Research Council of Norway visited UCAS on 23 May, 2013. Prof. Zhu Xiangbin, Assistant President of UCAS, met with the delegation at the Yuquanlu campus. During the meeting, issues concerning education and research were discussed and views were exchanged.

Prof. Zhu explained the general development of UCAS, including its educational model and international collaboration. He also highlighted the progress of the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC), which is influencing future international collaboration at UCAS. Prof. Zhu expressed his high expectations for close future cooperation with Norway's leading educational institutions.

Dr. Jon Holm, Director of the Division of Science at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, emphasized the strengths of Sino-Danish collaboration through integration of advantaged research fields by both sides. This has established an innovative example for bilateral cooperation in terms of graduate education. Ms. Kari Kveseth, Counsellor of Science and Higher Education at the Royal Norwegian Embassy, conveyed her strong interest in the SDC model of education, research and industry, hoping that Norwegian universities might build a comparable cooperative relation with UCAS in the near future in order to enhance academic exchanges between the two sides.
