On Sept 16th, Mr. Morten Østergaard, Danish Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education visited UCAS Yanqihu campus. Prof. Deng Yong, Executive Vice President of UCAS, received the visit at the International Conference Center.
Prof. Deng Yong welcomed the delegation warmly. He pointed out in his remarks that cultivating the global vision of the youth conforms to the “going global” strategy of China. UCAS has attached great importance to internationalizing higher education. In the future, UCAS will continue the endeavor of promoting the SDC as well as the educational and scientific cooperation between China and Demark.
This was Minister Østergaard’s first visit to UCAS. He said that the SDC is a successful example of the cooperation between UCAS and eight Danish universities, and is of great importance to the relationship between China and Demark. He stated his firm commitment to the SDC program and he hoped that the SDC building could be constructed and put into use as early as possible at the picturesque Yanqihu Campus, on which he expressed his great admiration.
The Danish delegation then visited the campus and the planned site of the SDC building under the guidance of Prof. Wang Yanfen, Vice President of UCAS.
Minister Østergaard was accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Friis Arne Petersen, Danish Ambassador to China, Mr. UffeToudal Pedersen, Secretary General of the Danish Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education and several other Danish officials. Prof. Zhu Xiangbin, Assistant President of UCAS, attended the reception.
