ULPGC Delegation Visits UCAS

A delegation led by Ms. Rosario Berriel Martinez, Vice Rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), visited UCAS on 5 Dec, 2013. Prof. Zhu Xiangbin, Assistant President of UCAS, met with the guests. Prof. Wang Daming from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences of UCAS also attended the meeting.

 

Prof. Zhu expressed his warmest welcome for the first visit of Ms. Berriel and introduced the historical development and present status of UCAS, emphasizing the ongoing international cooperation programs. He also explained the unique two-phase model for graduate education of UCAS. Ms. Berriel expressed her appreciation for the hospitality shown by UCAS and gave a brief introduction of ULPGC. She said she was deeply impressed by the broad range of research fields and outstanding research achievements of UCAS and hoped that this visit would begin a long-term cooperative relationship between UCAS and ULPGC. Both sides agreed to initiate research and education cooperation on marine science, marine biology and relevant humanities and social sciences.

 

 

Located in the Canary Islands, the ULPGC comprises 14 faculties, 36 Departments, 8 institutes and 4 research centers. ULPGC research includes cutting-edge projects in such subjects as oceanography, marine science, aquaculture, computer robotics, transport economy, business organization, and translation.
