The book “Progress in Science & Technology Archaeology” compiled by Prof. Wang Changsui of UCAS was selected among the “2013 Top 10 Books for Nationwide Cultural Heritage” on June 14.
The top 10 were chosen from a total of 327 books on cultural heritage in a competition launched by national newspaper “China Cultural Relics News.” The decision was made on a fair basis by a panel of experts selected randomly.
The book, which provides a systemic introduction of the latest breakthroughs made by Prof. Wang’s archaeological team in ceramic, metallurgical, biological and agricultural archaeology as well as jade research and debris analysis, stood out among the hundreds of books thanks to its great academic value. Readers can deeply feel the charm of science and technology archaeology.
The book, published in 2013, won wide acclaim by renowned scholars including CAS member Wu Xinzhi, who called the book “a professional course book full of latest research results.”
