UCAS and LUT sign MoU for educational cooperation

A delegation led by Prof. Anneli Pauli, the President of the Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), visited UCAS Zhongguancun Campus on 15 Oct., 2014. Prof. Wu Yueliang, Vice President of UCAS, accompanied by Prof. Hu Zhengyi, Executive Dean of the Sino-Danish College, met with the visitors.


Prof. Wu expressed his warm welcome for the first visit of Prof. Pauli and introduced the historical development and present status of UCAS, emphasizing UCAS international cooperation programs including the SDC program. Prof. Hu gave a presentation on the Sino-Danish College in particular.

 

Prof. Pauli expressed her appreciation for the hospitality shown by UCAS and gave a brief introduction of LUT. She spoke highly of the outstanding educational and research achievements of UCAS and showed great interest in the SDC program. She voiced hope that her visit would deepen mutual understanding and mutual trust between UCAS and LUT, so as to boost comprehensive cooperation between two universities in various areas.

 

 

In order to establish a long and fruitful relationship, Prof. Wu and Prof. Pauli signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in doctoral education between UCAS and LUT. Under this MoU, the two sides will develop joint doctoral education, supervision and research as well as encourage faculty and students’ exchange. The cooperation will initially focus on such areas as engineering, renewable energy and industrial applications.

 

LUT are one of the world’s top 300 universities according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings. LUT has leading projects in such subjects as Chemical Engineering, Energy Technology, Environmental Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Management.
