Three UCAS Colleges Established

Three UCAS colleges, the College of Astronomy and Space Science, the College of Engineering Science and the School of Public Policy and Management, have been established to integrate UCAS scientific research and education.

The former UCAS Department of Public Policy and Management, the Department of Law and the Research Center of Scientific Resources Management have merged into the School of Public Policy and Management.

The UCAS College of Astronomy and Space Science will focus on key issues of astronomy and related sciences to form a research and education-integrated mechanism, linking scientific facilities, significant scientific output and high-level personnel cultivation, resulting in high quality astronomy and space science education in China.

The UCAS College of Engineering Science has been formed from the Institute of Mechanics, CAS, the Institute of Electrical Engineering, CAS, the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, CAS, the Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, CAS, the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, CAS and the former School of Physics of UCAS.

The School of Public Policy and Management has been formed from the Institute of Policy and Management, CAS, the UCAS College of Technology Management, the UCAS Department of Law, the UCAS Department of Public Policy and Management, the UCAS Research Center of Scientific Resources Management and scholars from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research. It will become a globally renowned school of Public Policy and Management, with the integrated triple function of education, research and think tank.
