Prof. Bai Chunli, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was reappointed as President of The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries (TWAS) in the 26th TWAS General Meeting in Vienna, Austria on 18 November. Prof. Bai will serve a full term in 2016-2018.
TWAS is a global science academy based in Trieste, Italy, working to advance science and engineering for sustainable prosperity in the developing world. Prof. Bai is the first Chinese to serve as President of TWAS, serving since 2013.
