Ding Zhongli Met with President of Hong University of Science and Technology

Tony F Chan, President of Hongkong University (HKUST) of Science and Technology, visited UCAS on Sept 23. Ding Zhongli, President of UCAS and Vice-President of CAS, met with him at UCAS Yanqihu campus.

Ding welcomed Tony F Chan and briefed them on UCAS unique education mode which features the fusion of science and technology. He believed there is much room for cooperation between both universities in joint-school running, science and technology and transformation of sci-tech achievements.

Tony F Chan praised UCAS’s strong sci-tech strength supported by CAS. He suggested both universities initiate some substantial programs such as undergraduate exchange program, joint graduate training program and faculty exchange program.

In addition, Ding and Tony Chan discussed on the possibility of establishing an association of science and technology universities.
