UCAS Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Ghent University

Prof. Wu Yueliang, UCAS Vice-President visited Ghent University on 23 January 2017.

At noon, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place in the Congress Centre “Het Pand”. The goal of this agreement is to start up an immediate cooperation between UCAS and Ghent University.The signing of a MoU took place in the presence of Prof. Anne De Paepe, Rector of Ghent University.The signing of this MoU will allow UCAS to strengthen the cooperation with Ghent University, based on the existing cooperation between the different institutes under CAS and Ghent University.


Some of the opportunities seen by the Faculty of Sciences, for instance, are: an approach between scientific research labs with high qualified researchers on the two extremities of the Eurasian continent
with :
- double PhDs
- an increased high quality publication output
- but also, research of funding on national level in the framework of bilateral agreements such as the
Research Foundation Flanders (FWO); the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC); the Belgian Science Policy (Belspo) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People’s Republic of China. And for what the international level is concerned, some funding opportunities at European level.
