On June 9, the "University Startup World Cup 2021 Launch Ceremony & International University & Entrepreneurship Collaboration Seminar" jointly organized by University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Alliance of Danish Universities, Innovation Centre Denmark and Nordic Innovation Centre was held in the Sino-Danish centre for education and research of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Representatives of governments, universities and enterprises from more than 10 countries, as well as entrepreneurs, investors, professors and students from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tsinghua University, participated in the event online and offline. University Startup World Cup is a top international entrepreneurship and innovation competition, which initiated by Alliance of Danish Universities, jointly participated by world-famous universities. This activity is held by the combination of online and offline, via videolink. CHANG Qide, coordinator of the United Nations in China, shared the international cooperation cases of scientific and technological innovation to reduce maternal and infant mortality that he had promoted in Kenya, and said that he saw the future direction through today's cooperation. Two high-quality round-table forums were held at the International University & Entrepreneurship Collaboration Seminar. Focusing on the theme of scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship and internationalization of universities, five guests from Norway, Iceland, Denmark and China were gathered, including government representatives, leaders of innovation and entrepreneurship of universities, enterprise executives and academic institutions. At the same time, they made suggestions for universities to jointly build an international innovation and entrepreneurship cooperation ecology from a multi-dimensional and deep level. Another forum is about how universities innovate and start businesses from the perspective of investors. Investors from China, Denmark and Pakistan and The Research Institute of the Belt and Road of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly discussed how to help innovation and entrepreneurship and transformation of scientific and technological achievements through investment in universities, and provide investment and development proposals for the whole life cycle of the University's scientific and technological innovation.
The University Startup World Cup 2021 will strive to cover 100 countries and regions around the world, and finally select 100 entrepreneurial projects to advance to the global finals. At the same time, 10 online and offline competitions around different countries, industries and universities will be held to promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation in international science and technology innovation while selecting high-quality projects, so as to show China's science and technology communication and influence overseas. The global finals of the University Startup World Cup 2021 will be held in China in early November.
