On the evening of December 29, the "Belt and Road" Initiative Learning and Exchange Salon for Chinese and foreign students of UCAS was successfully held in the Multi-functional Hall of Yanqi Lake Campus. 60 Chinese and international students, research scholars in the field of "Belt and Road" Initiative and staff members of UCAS International College participated in the Salon. The salon was attended by more than 60 Chinese and international students, researchers and scholars in the field of "One Belt, One Road" initiative, and faculty and staff of UCAS. HU Zhongbo, Executive Vice President of the International College, HU Zhengyi, Secretary of the International Education Joint Party Committee, and CHEN Feng, Director of the General Office of the International College, attended the event.

The event was divided into three parts: keynote report, "One Belt, One Road" dialogue, and international cultural performance.
International students from Yemen, Pakistan, Kenya, and Rwanda gave keynote speeches on the "One Belt, One Road" initiative. The students told concrete examples of their countries' in-depth cooperation with China in various fields of science and technology, education, culture, economy and politics, as well as the changes before and after the initiative. MOHAMMED ALI MOHAMMED AL-HABABI from Yemen talked about the early gains of the "Belt and Road" cooperation between China and Yemen, especially since the first summit forum, with the joint efforts of both sides. MOHSIN RAZA from Pakistan talked about the long-standing friendship between China and Pakistan, which has been sublimated after the Belt and Road Initiative, and the deeper cooperation between Pakistan and China in various fields such as energy, tourism, agricultural development and poverty reduction. FELIX WAMBUA MUEMA from Kenya mentioned that China's high-speed rail link between Mombasa and Nairobi has enabled Chinese technology to take root in East Africa; JULES MUHIRE from Rwanda believed that the Belt and Road Initiative has helped Rwanda and other landlocked countries to connect their ports and promote economic development and integration in Africa. The dialogue session was moderated by CHEN Feng, a post-doctoral fellow from the School of Public Administration of UCAS, and more than 10 master's and doctoral students from China and internationally had a lively discussion on how to strengthen the promotion of e-commerce on the Silk Road and how to better promote digital cooperation in e-commerce on the Silk Road in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative. At the beginning of the discussion, everyone explained the concept of Silk Road e-commerce with their own experience and understanding, further deepening their understanding of the concept and connotation of Silk Road e-commerce. Afterwards, in order to demonstrate the Silk Road e-commerce cooperation process more vividly and explore the potential problems that may exist in the digital cooperation process, the students spontaneously formed Chinese and international delegations to role-play the Silk Road e-commerce digital cooperation process. The international students were matched with the Chinese Alibaba Taobao platform "leaders" with their own country's resource characteristics and e-commerce development vision, and had an in-depth and lively discussion on the demands and challenges of digital cooperation respectively. All participants expressed their views and achieved fruitful results.

At the end of the salon, everyone danced together
Chinese students from UCAS HongYan Dance Troupe, School of Information and Environment and international students from UCAS presented wonderful cultural programs including classical dance, singing, gourd silk solo, Chinese costume show, piano solo and Chinese chorus. The salon was successfully concluded with a joyful dance in which all the students participated.
