On January 13, 2022, Clarivate Analytics released the latest statistics of ESI from January 1, 2011 to October 31, 2021.
A total of 362 universities in mainland China have entered the world’s top 1% disciplines, including 7 new and 0 leaving. Among the 362 universities which has at least one world’s top 1% discipline (Peking Union Medical College is counted as a university and Peking Union Medical College Hospital is counted as an institution, so they are counted separately), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) ranks first at 44th, Tsinghua University (THU) improves by 1 to rank second at 60th, and Peking University (PKU) improves by 2 to rank third at 69th. The three universities have all improved their rankings compared to the previous period's data.
