On the morning of September 25, 2017, the Crown Prince Frederik André Henrik Christian of Denmark participated in the inauguration ceremony of the SDC building, which is located in the Yanqihu campus of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Huairou. And this building would become the home of all SDCers.
During his visit, accompanied by President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, BAI Chunli, the Crown Prince Frederik André Henrik Christian of Denmark enjoyed the magnificent scenery of the Great Wall of China through the windows of the SDC building.
The inauguration ceremony of the SDC building started at 12.00 on September 25,2017. ZHANG Baowen, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress, Frederik André Henrik Christian, Crown Prince of Denmark, BAI Chunli, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Soeren Pind, Minister of the Danish Ministry of Higher Education Science, SONG Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, DING Zhongli, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lene Tranberg, Designer of the SDC Building, and Sten Scheibye, Chairman of the Danish Industrial Foundation attended the ceremony and addressed speeches.

In the end, Sten Scheibye, Chairman of the Danish Industrial Foundation handed the key to Frederik André Henrik Christian who was handed over to President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, BAI Chunli.
In the afternoon of the 27th,the Crown Prince Frederik André Henrik Christian of Denmark accompanied by President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,BAI Chunli, and the student representatives, visited their apartments, and then joined the SDC students to Mutianyu section of the Great Wall.
At 18.30, a banquet dinner was held at UCAS International Conference Center. In the warm applause of all teachers and students, Frederik André Henrik Christian, the Crown Prince of Denmark, went into the banquet hall. He came to every table to express his appreciation to all the students of SDC for the work they had done.
The completion of the SDC building has a great significance to all SDCers, but this is not the end, this is only the beginning.
